A card next to her plate of waffles:
Happy 35th Birthday to my Waffle Wife! I can't wait to give you your gift, but you're going to have to find it first. And me, for that matter. Eat up (you're going to need it), get dressed (you'll find your dress hanging in the wardrobe) and then head up to the tree house for your next clue. Good luck!

I love you,
Cal
A note on the door of the tree house:
I may find things for a living, but it's your turn now. Hope you're ready for a scavenger hunt. At the end, you'll get your present.

This tree house, among so many other things you've done for me, has brought me happiness that I didn't even know I was missing before you. Whether it's blanket forts or sand castles, you always find ways to make my life brighter. Inside you'll find a crossword I've been saving ever since you manually wrote in your own answers for the first time. Fair warning, it's a portkey. See you soon, love.
A note at their booth in
The World's End Pub:
I thought about sending you to our stall in the loo, but figured that was a bit much.  So instead, here's our booth.  I've flirted, kissed, done some very inappropriate things and fallen even more in love with you by the second in this pub.  That night you came to "rescue" me I told you I'd follow you anywhere and I don't think either of us realized just how true that was at the time. This is just one of many of "our places" that make me feel at home thanks to you. Our friend the barkeep should be making his way to you now with a very important whiskey glass.  On to the next.
A note on a table at his mother's
favorite restaurant in milos:
Feeling out of sorts yet? In case you can't tell, you're at the restaurant my mum frequented in Milos. Greece hadn't been a place of happiness for me in decades before you came along, Fi. I never thought I could return here before you came with me on that job. You've always had a way of holding me up even when I swear I don't need it. Not only that, but you brought me back to Milos and made it a place I can remember fondly again. You gave me your father's watch here and I don't think I've ever been so touched by a gift before then. That's your next portkey, by the way. Don't worry, I left it in the owner's hands to deliver it safely to you.
a note handed to her by a street
sweeper at the pont des arts in paris:
The first time we came here, I knew I loved you. I'd known for so long but was terrified to tell you. If I have one regret when it comes to us, it's that I waited so damn long to be honest with you. And myself. If I'd known just how happy we would be, I would have screamed it from the rooftops all those years ago. Paris is just another place I'd been to a hundred times before, but that I didn't quite see until I came here with you. You make everything more colorful, more magical, and I'm so grateful for that. Go find our lock, love.
a note in the window of their
cottage at cornwall:
Yet another safe space I have thanks to you. Before, I used to only feel that way with my head in a book or mountains of work around me. I couldn't even see what was out there, Fi. I've traveled the world and never truly experienced it until you. Never before would I have been content to sit in our quiet cottage on the coast with you and just be. And now it's all I ever want in life. Rosie dug up a seashell last time we were here and you put it on the mantle. It'll take you to the next stop.
a note on the counter of
adelina's kitchen in vernazza, italy:
The first time you brought me here, I was so nervous to meet your mum (don't tell her!) Of course I had nothing to worry about, but I wanted to impress my best friend's mother. Even then I knew you were so much more than that though. You grew up in such a different home than I did, love. I had never seen anything like it before, but recently I realized we have that now. Together. You've made our own home full of warmth and love. (Not to mention really good food.) I don't know how I lucked out with you, Fi, but I'm thankful every single day for it. Your mum has your gift, but you can't open it yet because it's the last portkey. Can't wait to see you, love.
